Far too technically-assured to be labelled as an all-rounder, the Ribelle Cross 2 GORE-TEX from Scarpa is probably best described as a ‘go-anywhere, do-anything’ cross-over mountain shoe. The style’s ripstop-esque synthetic uppers and protective TPU rand are exceptionally abrasion-resistent and durable without the expected weight penalty, promising years of service. The uppers are backed by a completely waterproof GORE-TEX ePE membrane, which offers resolute weather-blocking properties that aren’t at the expense of breathability. Shock-absorbing midsoles keep proceedings comfortable when the trail is anything but, while PRESA HIK outsoles keep you planted on technical terrain, whether it’s muddy, wet or rocky.
